BICYCLES FOR CHURCH WORKERS AND LAY LEADERS IN GHANA, WEST AFRICA

Evangelists, senior lay preachers and other lay leaders do most of the ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana. Since public transportation is unreliable, bicycles are needed to help congregational leaders fulfill their duties. Leaders use bicycles to do outreach, visit members, exchange pulpits, attend regional meetings, lead TEE, teach in other congregations, etc. Each leader has about four congregations to serve. Having bicycles, they won’t have to walk eight to twelve miles each day.

Your opportunity is to provide transportation for the Lutheran church leaders in the villages, helping them to reach and train more people. You will also help provide a noticeable presence as Lutheran leaders are seen traveling between villages, or on extended trips for continuing studies.
