The economic changes in the former Soviet Union have brought about an environment of hardship in which children are particularly vulnerable. LCMS World Relief is enabling congregations such as St. John the Apostle in Moscow to reach out to orphans, abandoned children and runaways through the Street Children Transition Project.

The congregations offer physical care, cabbage, potatoes, and bread, and also spiritual care as they tell them the Good News of our Lord Jesus using the types pf Russian Sunday School materials that are attached. They also work to locate and involve parents in providing for the children’s well-being. A donation of $210.00 makes it possible for this project to provide one weeks care for two thousand children. That breaks down to amazing fact that 25 cents will care for 2 street children in Moscow for one entire week.
